Acording to Dark Monk's prophecy, he used this key to form the Island of the Celebration and Dark Monk's statue in it. But before disappearing, he broke the key in four fragments. The legend tells that in the 10.000th ceremony the four fragments will be reunited, and Zeelich will regain the appearance it had on its origin.

When Twinsen gathers the four fragments and forms Dark Monk's key, he gains magic level: Fire. After placing it in Dark Monk's temple, Dark Monk's statue emerges from the volcano.
Trivia
Each Zeelich species and their relationship to their respective fragment are reflective of their nature.
- The working-class Francos engaged in an internal dispute about their fragment to such an extent that one of them had to bury it. Meanwhile, the entire Francos community remained oblivious to the true nature of the fragment.
- The superstitious Wannies placed their fragment on a holy shrine and worshipped it like it was a gift from the Gods, being in actuality a literal gift from above.
- The snobbish and arrogant Sups placed their fragment in a treasure chest, treating it as just another example of their supposed list of accomplishments.
- The Mosquibees, being the only species aware of the true nature of each fragment, other than perhaps the Sups, hid it on an island adjacent to their royal castle, guarded by a Gas Monster. This was done to ensure that their fragment would not fall into the wrong hands.
